Our product is the Audio-over-IP (AoIP) Engine. The software modules are for telephones and gateway. Spatial acoustics is already available at 64 bit/s and the engine can automatically adjust the speech and audio quality to the current Internet connection.

Symonics' high quality telephony technology is based on the new speech and audio codec IETF Opus. This codec allows for a quality reaching from narrowband to hi-fi. The code rates are 8 to 512 kbps while the frame length is 2.5 to 60 ms. Is is standardized by many important Internet players like Skype, Google and many more. In the context of the RTC Web Initiative by W3C and IETF, Opus will soon be integrated into every web browser. The founders of Symonics have been involved in the standardization of Opus since 2008 and are responsible for drafting the Opus quality test document.
